So I searched to see what the consensus was on bug deflectors. Most had negative reviews. So I decided to take a chance anyway and bought a rugged ridge deflector. Installed it my way not using the weak plastic nutserts they provide which by the way stripped. I drilled into the underside sheet metal and used the 3m adhesive they provided for the center portion. During the week it seemed like windshield was a bit cleaner than normal but wasn't sure. Yesterday the wife and I took a drive about 250 miles one way and 250 back. I thought i would post up my results from this long drive. Normally after 250 miles my windshield would look like it got hit with a locust plague at this point. So I think the results speak for themselves. Incase you can't see the pics very well, there are only about 7-10 big bug hits. So in my experience - THEY WORK! or atleast this one does. As an aside couple of things I learned: Arizona jeepers don't wave. And I now know what hood flutter is and looks like. Reminds me of my dog chewing away at fleas on his hind side.

The only Az jeepers that wave are the ones who off road or are from back east. You can tell by the setup on their rigs who will wave back!!! Just my .02

I did an 8500km round trip down to Moab then over to the Rubicon and back home to Canada last year.

Gonna have to check those rampage locks out. I was expecting the hood to come flying up and out!
