Default Bump Stop Question

I originally had a budget boost on the front of my jeep , but have upgraded to longer shocks, abjustable trackbar & control arms. The only thing I have left is the 3" spacer on top of my springs. My question is, are the 3" bump stops still needed since the shocks have been lengthen?

No, shocks will only allow more down travel, if you were to lift it more yes, but as long as you don't you will be fine, I would suggest checking to make sure you won't lose a coil at full flex or you will need to limiting straps, but you will be fine as long as they aren't that much longer then the shocks you had before. If you plan on putting bigger tires on you will need bigger bumpstops but not from longer shocks

If you want better flex, or if they rub a bit just cut your stock fenders. It's free just takes some time. That way you don't need to install bumpstops if you like the look that is. And you are welcome always willing to help out fellow jeepers

You need to cycle the suspension to make sure you are not bottoming out the shocks and to make sure you are not going to lose a coil

I'll be leaving the bump stops in until I get a chance to cycle the suspension to check it out. Don't want to take a chance on blowing out my new 5160's. Thanks

Incorrect bump stop spacing will damage shocks and can shear shock mounting bolts and break bar pins. Shocks make for expensive travel limiters. All it takes is one hard hit.
