When you get them Line-Xed do you need to remove the powder coating first?

I got a poison spyder bumper that came in bare steel. I bedlined it myself so touch up is super easy. No rust if you stay on top of it.

I bought a Shrockworks front winch bumper with the textured powder coating and it has been on for about a year. I live in Northern Indiana so it has made it through a salty winter. No chips or any signs of rust in the front or back. I just ordered a rear swing away bumper since I am so happy with my front winch bumper. Quality steel made in the USA, not made in China. They do make them to order so there is about a 15 week wait, but the quality is second to none.

"The ShrockWorks JK Swing-out Tire Carrier is made from premium laser cut HRPO 3/16" plate steel. The shaft is made from aerospace grade 17-4PH stainless steel. It will never rust and it's mega strong."

X2 Line-X is your friend.

I did front and rear ARB bumpers, my Or-Fab tire carrier, and my N-Fab side steps. All have been Line-Xed for over two years, No issues. If you go this route spend a little extra and get the UV protection.
