??? for Bursville O.R./Evololution,etc.
This question is directed to shops and/or individuals who have done major build that involve swapping to real D44's(i.e not Rubi's) and/or D60's:
What have you done about the ESP/traction control stuff? Is there a way that it can be disabled by programming or whatever? Or do parts exist on newer 3/4 and 1 ton trucks to swap on their traction control parts? I assume that the bigger trucks don't yet have this feature though.
I want to replace my D30 with something beefy, but pretty much everthing I've seen yet still retains some D30 parts. Not worth the expense, to me.
What are the big boys doing?

the Jk fr high pinion 44w/locker and superior shafts will be stronger than any so called real 44s. It has a larger ring gear than past 44s. Its high pinion design is stronger than a low pinion design. The axle tubs are larger and less flexy. It could be had for close to 2000bucks and swaps right in. A smart driver with this setup and 37s most likely wont ever brake. Build for your driving style and tire size. If you are a throttle monkey and have 37s or larger than I would move to the 60. The currie 60 uses your stock brakes and ABS sensors. The computer will never know anything has changed. It is a direct bolt-in also. If money were no object, I know what would be under my jeep.
Yeah, me too. But unfortunately, my money tree died.
About the Rubi d44's...I was under the impression that the older 3/4 ton D44's had thicker axle tubes. Maybe not though. I had hoped to use an old Ford high pinion D44to build on. I figured the knuckles and shafts were bigger also, but I need to verify that. I mainly just wanted to know if there was a way around the electronics.
And for the record, maybe Currie will chime (I bet they're at SEMA though), how many parts on the JK 60 are shared with the factory D30/D44? I know the brakes and sensors, but what else?

Any pics? I'd really like to see the factory axles side-by-side with the Dynatracs. Any specs on the axles? In the mean time, I'm gonna look for their website to see what they have.
