The material of the spring looks almost pourous.... bad material?

You got that rigth. Very dissappointed on the quality of Mopar products.

Doesn't another manuafaturer make Mopar lifts?...maybe Rubicon express?? I remember hearing that the Mopar ones were rebranded something....just don't remember.

I would agree with the bad material. I would say it broke and that's why it was unseated. Broken coils springs, regardless of application, are almost always from bad material.

I am fairly sure the Rubicon Express makes the Mopar lifts. I read just the other day that they are CLOSED for "Restructuring". I don't think they are out of business, but they are definitely not open.

I'd agree with an early poster that after the first coil broke, the second became unseated as it was left to support the entire weight of the rear of the Jeep. Can only assume poor quality control or trash in the steel during manufacturing would cause a coil to break like that.
