Default CAI people?

I know this is a sore subject around here but I was thinking about giving one a shot to see if I would notice any difference. For the people that have them... Which one do you have and do you like it? It not why? Thanks

I have an Airaid with the Airaid prefilter. Solid build, excellent customer service if you will ever need it, great sound. It makes the Jeep coupled with the Magnaflow cat back sound and run so much better. My wife drove the Sahara last week since the upgrades and noticed a difference in performance. Forget any mpg gains though. You will have your foot on the gas more to enjoy the nice sound.

I have a Volant on my 2007 Sahara 4dr that I just installed (2 days ago).
Bought it about a month ago and wanted to drive o fully stock to compare.
I noticed the engine is more elastic, that is, revs up faster and seems to have slightly more power. However, my mpg came down about .5mpg.

I'll install a Bully Dog tuner shortly and compare the before-after also.

I agree. The sound alone that you gain tricks your mind into thinking your 3.8 finally woke up.

I have the AEM Brute Force and it's great. Like above, don't count on mpg gains.

Oh, and be very careful in these situations....may switch to a snorkel now.

I have the Banks and love it. Seat of the pants feel is noticeable and it definitely improves the minivan motor sound

A went AirRaid with pre-filter with superchips, great sound but engine got boggy poor response when wheeling or city driving when it was really hot outside. I found it was sucking in more warm engine air rather then cooler outside air. Also, very good chance of hydro-locking if you play in water/mud.

I switched out my AirRaid for a TRUE CAI system.... AEV snorkel with RamAir with AFe drop-in found it got better response than the AirRaid CAI as it is sucking in cooler air and got better MPG with the snorkel setup. Also, 1 week after I switched out my AirRaid...I encountered this mudhole and would have hydrolocked with my CAI system...but the snorkel saved me.

However, a snorkel is not for everyone but I believe is a must if you are going to be playing in water/mud.

I also have a Banks and it's great MOST of the time. Loved it right up until we covered the filter in think mud. The filter did do a good job of stopping most of the crap from getting through, even air! I'll eventually be moving to a snorkel of some sort.
