I also have the Banks Ram-Air . I noticed the engine Has more Pep, that it revs up faster and seems to have slightly more power. Don't keep track of my mpg , So I can't tell you if I gained or lost.

I have a volant CAI it sounds awesome but didn't help the MPG the power might be a little better but not much. I don't think any of them make a big difference. Next I'm going with a chip see if that helps any. I did a 257 mile trip this morning with 3.5" lift and 35" tires with 5:13 gears and didn't baby it any staying around 72 to 75 MPH it got 13.5 on a calculator.

My AEM Brute force really helps with my power. However, I just don't go in deep water. If I did it on occasion, then I would have a snorkel.

I say Banks all the way, I first bought one for my 06 TJ. Then when i bought my wife's JK and my own JK I put Banks on them both. First off it is more of a true CAI since its enclosed, which keeps the engine heat away. 2nd, the throttle response and pep of the engine is greatly improved. And I love the sound, i havent even upgraded exhaust yet, but once i do its gonna make the minivan engine sound even better. It may not have a flashy design, but IMO the best intake out there.

Yea I like the way the banks one looks as well. I don't really care about flashy as long as it functions like it's supposed to. Thanks for the tip. I will look into the banks one more

They are pretty much all the same. A pipe with a filter on the end.

Going through water is fine as long as you know what your doing and know the depth.

"Winging" with puddles/water crossing is when people ingest water into the engine.

If you go with a CAI, can I have your stock air intake set-up? I want to take my CAI out and put in a snorkel.
