Default CAI sock or water guard

I've got the K&N performance CAI on my JK Unlimited and am worried about offroading later this month.

I've heard horror stories of JKs hyrdolockin at an increased rate due to how open the CAI is when going thru water / mud.

Is this true? Is there anything I can do to protect it further?

I've heard of putting a sock over it, not sure if they was your actual sock or some kind of special sock to repel water for this filter. Thx!

I have a pre-filter for my airaid, you should be able to order one for your k&n at any parts store.
