I did some measuring today on the stock intake. The inside diameter at the thottle is 2.5" or 4.9 sq. in. of area for air to flow thru. That does not include the space the butterfly takes. The smallest diameter in the stock air tube is 2.6" so I see no restriction there. The opening at the bottom of the snorkel on the air box is 6.56 sq in of area for air to flow thru which is bigger than the thottle opening. If you pull the snorkel out the opening on the airbox is 9.03 sq in. which is bigger yet. So can't see how the stock intake can be so restrictive. The stock airfilter itself seems to be the biggest restriction to me.

I got my AIRAID yesterday and i love it. Great sound and a more than i expected in pick up (or so it seems) But definitely recommended
