The problem is with how they are used. Not so much with the quality of the bolt.
If cam bolts work for you, Great. But if they don't work, then its even more trouble and cost to go back to arms.

Good luck with your decision.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the installation of cam bolts require turning a round hole into an oval? So if future arms are installed, new brackets should replace the factory brackets that have to be removed from the frame.

I think you got that backwards. I havn't done the mod. But I do know that you have to make the holes larger to install the cam bolts ( easy enough ). And you have to make the holes smaller to go back ( not so easy ).

Yes, you make the holes rectangle shaped so the cam bolt can adjust. there is a little kit you can buy to "repair" if you want to goto arms.

Poly Performance JEEP/TRUCK & BUGGY :: Suspension :: Suspension & Lift Kits :: Jeep Suspension Systems :: 2007-Current Jeep JK Wrangler Suspension Systems :: Synergy Suspension :: Synergy Suspension Jeep JK Cam Bolt Eliminator Kit - 4X4 Off-Road Part

No biggie just weld these into the bracket and your good to go again.

I don;t see the major concern. maybe its just me, but after building all kinds of other crap, this does'nt seem to be the biggest deal.

No one has ever said that they have had front end issues when using control arms. But a lot of people have said that they have had front end issues when using cam bolts. My Jeep is a DD. And if it takes spending a little more money to make things better. Then you are right. It's no big deal.

I fall into the camp of welding things on to add strength to pieces that handle high stress and torque loads, not actually take the abuse. But that's me. Cheers.

Haven't heard of anyone in my post who actually had cam bolts who had issues, only a few who had a friend of a friend. The people who actually have them installed have reported no issues. Funny. Their complaint is not enough adjust ability. Maybe a 3 or 4 in lift they cannot get you close. But for 2.5" should get you back to stock caster. Again, I want to hear from people who have used the bolts. Good or bad, not people who have an opinion on them. Real world results only please.

I have pro comp cam bolts on my 12 JKU with a 2.5 inch Teraflex lift. Also have a JKS adjustable front track bar and a Skyjacker steering stablizer. 35x12.5x17 procomp tires and rims also. All reccommended by the guys at Four wheel parts when they installed the lift with a three year warranty. Its been on for 10,000 miles now and i have been offroad a number of times and have not had any problems. My Jeep drives and tracks straight, no flighty steering. Over the years this is the third 4 wheel drive that i have had cam bolts on and never a problem with them at all.
