Can I make 37" work?
 

Hello! This is my first post so I'm sorry!
I drive a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 2 door automatic.
I want to fit 37-12.5-18r Nitto Trail Grapplers so my question is will this set up work?

-2.5 Teraflex lift (shocks and springs)
-Aries tube fender flares
-Rough Country front and rear track bar(to center my axels)
-5.13 Revolution gears
-stubby bumper(with 9,500 winch)
-18" fuel hostage wheels with I believe a 4.5" backspacing
-I was also thinking of getting like a 1" body lift later down the road.

Will this work? This will be a mall crawler! Won't be taken off-roading.

Why would you need to spend a grand on a winch without needing it and skimp out on other aspects of helping you run 37s?

You could definitely do it though, 2.5" with flats it is possible. With the body lift, it's 100% possible.

My dad is a dealer for bulldog winches so I got a very good deal.

4.5" backspace is the general recommendation for 35x12.50's. For 37's, 3-3.5" might be more appropriate. If you find that the tires rub with 4.5", do some reading on wheel spacers and/or adding washers to the steer stops. You might also read a few threads on trimming the pinch seams, and rock rails if you have those.

Agree with the guys above, you can make that work. I have Aries fenders also and 37's on 3" lift springs with 4.5" backspace wheels. There are pics in my profile this is working great for me.

You'll need to do some minor trimming in the rear fender wells (saws all). Might want to adjust up to 3" rear bumpstops if you still have rubbing. And because those tires are wide and you have 4.5" backspace a couple washers under your steering stops should keep them off the frame and swaybar.

Won't be hard to make this work for you with what you've outlined though

37*13.5" with 2.5" and trimmed fenders- no body lift needed. At least with the 13.5" wide tires I absolutely needed 3.5" bs and even then under full articulation and turned it'll rub the frame.

It's the perfect mall crawler setup. In essence, it's a RK stock mod plus drop brackets. Substitute the drop brackets for LCA's and it becomes their flex kit.....as a comparison for what parts are needed to make it work reliably down the road.

37s and a 2.5"

If you are on a budget you should not be even thinking of running 37's.
That being said you can run 37's on no lift if you want since it is a mall crawler and by doing it cheap means you don't care how it drives. On a low lift you are going to want 3"-3.5" of backspacing on the wheels. 4.5" will rub on the control arms and frame.

Karl, I just have to ask, what tire size "haven't" you had on your JK? :D

I think I've seen you post pics of your JK with 33's, 34's, 37's and now you're putting 35's on? You just like changing tire sizes? :D
