I bought this Dana 44 off Kijiji for my JK. (Mine has a D35 in it and time to upgrade for regearing+lockers) and I just want to make sure it is a JK Dana44 and the guy didn't screw me.

Open the cover, and see if there's a locker. The Rubi housings have locker wiring attached to them, so even if he pulled/ripped those out...there'd still be a hole where the wires ran through. How much did you pick it up for?
