Can't install new rear shock, WTFH?
Hey guys.
I am installing a replacement Skyjacker rear shock and I can't for the life of me get that f**king mounting bar & bushing into the top of the shock. It just won't fit.....is there a trick to getting the goddamn thing in there?
I've tried putting the bushing in, then the bar, couldn't get the bar in. I've tried putting the bar in the bushing, then putting the whole thing in together, couldn't do that.
Tips please?

Do you have a vise? Lube it up with white lithium grease and slowly vise it in. Or if you have a C-clamp or a big pair of channel locks you can do the same thing. Grease makes alot of difference, lube it up!

First, place the bar pin in a bench vice, lube it and the shock bushing well with white lithium grease. Then, place the shock bushing over the bar pin, work it around the pin a bit and then push down forcefully with one hand while rotating the entire shock back and forth with your other hand. The bar pin should slip through with ease. see pic below....

As mentioned, the vise is by far the best method. After struggling with it while putting my first lift on, I went to harbor freight and bought a vise before doing my latest lift.
If you can't get to a vise or have to do it while traveling, I found that a pair of vice grips and soap from the hotel bathroom will work, but you have to put some silicon grease on it when you get home.
