What makes the Banks better than Borla?

Personal preference and a BIG difference in price. I haven't heard a borla system but I loved the sound of the banks on my TJ. Nothing for the 2-doors yet though. When there is I'll have a flowmaster 40 series for sale real cheap.

What makes a Borla so good? There's an awful large price increase over a Gibson, Dynomax, etc. Okay, I understand the stainless adding cost, but doubling it?

I've always used Borla, this is the first time I try Gibson and believe you me, they are excellent, much nicer sound and significant power and MPG increase. I went with dual and aluminum not chrome (I already painted it with heat resistant black)

Changing the headers on a JK is wasted money, OE headers are very good.

I don't know if I allowed to do this but I ordered directly from Banks as Quad didn't have it yet. Call 800-438-7693 $458 at the door. If I broke a rule "SORRY" just trying to give back what I have taken. This by far the best JK forum. Last 90 days I've learned more about the Jk and made several changes to improve it. Its starting to build a personality. Thanks to all.

Any idea on how long Banks will take to come out with a cat-back for the 2-door? I would like to wait, but won't if it is going to be a long time.

hi guys,
this is my first post so don't make jocks if i say it wrong..:toung:

I am thinking of fitting a custom made headers, with direct pipe to duel input and single output mufflers.. that will cost me around 465$ + the muffler, (if i want to add the cats) + cats price..

what do you think guys????

Im not trying to hijack the thread but Im running stock exhaust with an "Air Force One" intake. It sounds awesome and really throaty withless uphill struggle but it seems I have really lost some torque on low speed obstacles. Do aftermarket intakes work better with cat back upgrades and vice versa or do the aftermarket exhausts like factory air better?

If you look at the performance graphs for CAI, and Cat-back systems you'll see that the gains are mostly in the higher RPM range. So, you won't gain and in some cases lose low RPM and/or Torque. These probably are not what you want on a rock crawler, but more for highway use.

The K&N 63 Series for example claims an 8HP gain, but it's at nearly 5K RPM. The Air-raid CAI had similar results. The gains are all in the higher RPMs.

That Cat-backs are no different. The chart for the Magnaflow STARTS at 4K RPMs. They don't even show the numbers below that.
