Default " centering steering wheel"

Just installed RC 2.5 BB, instructions warn in several places- bold writing- to center steering wheel b4 driving. Weird thing was, steering wheel stayed centered. When I changed my X 2 door coils and shocks for Rubicon 4dr coils and shocks the steering wheel was off ( I followed the OME write up ) and I re-centered wheel. Gained about an inch of lift. Question- when lifting does steering wheel always get off center? Or only on initial lift? Say 1"-3", then if lifting higher 4"-6" wheel off-center again? Thanks for input. Pics to follow. Wayoflife- thanks for the input on the brake line extender, and N2rock- I also found brackets laying around in garage to make brake-line drop bracket. Zip-tie to be replaced asap. Thanks- Joe

If your steering did not change, your unit is defective. I'll be glad to dispose of it for you !

Really though, I think you just got lucky and after your initial lift and recentering the wheel, when you switched out, it was the about the same so your steering was still centered. Just lucky I think. Recentering is easy, just a PITA having to do it 3-4 times to get it perfect. At least that was my experience as I wanted it perfect, and a 1/32" difference in the steering wheel would drive me nuts !!!!

Default Rc 2.5 bb

Thanks for the input. Steering wheel is centered. Took it on highway today pulling trailer w/ ATV, was worried at first- was pulling to the left- but it was just the wind. Drives straight- no hand on steering wheel- no pull. Took it wheeling/mud/rock/hillclimb for about 3 hours- no problems. We heard a shout and a guy was in the woods- had shot a 8 point buck w/ crossbow, we loaded it on the KingQuad and took it to his pick-up for him- good times. Pretty happy with lift so far, no "death wobble", rides smooth. I'll post better pics next time- Joe

I just did the TF 2.5, and the steering wheel is just a fraction off center.... to the point where I wouldn't notice unless I was looking for it. Is this pretty common?

When I did the Rusty's 2", it was pretty much the same. Looking at the geometry of the suspension, it is possible that the change was subtle enough you don't notice it. The amount of change is not linear, and it should increase by a greater percentage the higher the lift goes.
