Yeah, I spent a great deal of time looking for a custom D44 front. I even had one actually ordered before they called back and said they couldn't do it. ARB, OX... no one has a workable selectable locker for a front 44. As close as I could come to custom was a Mopar D44 with Evolution axles.

That's what I was saying. I said in the ball park for the price of the 2 Mopar axles he could build a custom axle. If you go the 4wd, you will see that they are no longer listing the JK Mopar axles.

If you go to http://www.northridge4x4.com/proddet...4-FRONT&cat=38

You will see that you can build a custom front JK D44 axle for under $2800 that has alloy axles, ARB lockers and gear ratio of choice.

It is also possible to find a vendor that builds Solid custom axles for the JK.

Is this a bolt-in for the JK?

That axle doesn't include the suspension mounts or the abs tone rings for the jk. THose were meant for 06 and earlier applications.

It is not a "nightmare" in the rear, but it does change the characteristics and handling. I had one in the rear of my TJ, and did not like it, but I would not classify it as a nightmare. I would consider it for the JK Unlimited with the much longer wheelbase...

for what it is worth, the stock limited slip with traction control, along with a front lunchbox locker is amazing in it's capabilities. And I do mean amazing...

My point was that I don't think 2800 is not the ideal way to make a JK X have the front and rear have 4.1 ratio unless it came with a D35 rear. Many people will then want to upgrade the axle shafts on top of that and regear to lower than 4.1 gearing anyway.
