Default chasing myself.

So I'm due for tires on my jku. I was going to get 35's but I don't have the funds for doing supports on my d30 for a while. I'm just trying to decide what to do because I don't want tohave to get two sets of tires in the next year. I had a good line on destination mts but there ase only four tires left in the US right now so if I blew one out, I don't know if I could get a matching replacement. So I'll probably get mud grapplers in either size..

Whats concerns with the dana 30? Strength wise its fine with 35's. Only concern should be gearing if pre 12' jeep

He is likely talking about "C" gussets and a truss or sleeves. The c's should be gusseted at a minimum even if it is just for piece of mind.

If you are taking this out on the trails and are pretty easy on the skinny pedal you should be OK. If you like to bump obstacles then you will definitely want to beef it up. I have seen some pretty nasty things happen to a D30.

I won't be doing hardcore wheeling until the axle is handled. And that might be getting a salvage d44 after the 30 is toast. No one around here will do axle reinforcement, that I've found and I don't have the materials or trust in my abilities to do structural welding.

Well I'm just posting an update for anyone. First off I work at firestone so I was planning on getting the destination m/ts for my rig, but they are very low stock in the company in 285/70/17 or 315/70/17. I got my fairlane out yesterday and lost third gear somehow so I might be in need of a new tranny in it so I need to live on the cheap so I can upgrade that to a five speed and get it on the road soon.

In that, I've decided that I'm going to do dueler revo2's because of the eco tech stuff and the fact that five in 33x11-17 will be under $700 through my work. That way I can use the money saved on that and gas to get credit cards knocked out so I can figure out my direction for my d30 either replace or reinforce and I might just jump to 37's art that point of my finances are straight enough.

Thanks for the help thus far everyone.

May I suggest if you want 35's and gussets go with the TreadWright Guard Dogs. They are a Bead to Bead retread that runs about $159. They use Nitto, Toyo, Goodyear, and BFG carcasses. I bought 5 had em shipped to California for under $900. These tires are great and I am hoping they will get 37's for the 17" rim soon.

If you buy the in a set of 4 or 5 they will match the carcasses.

You could always go with a set of low mile used tires. Check the for sale section and Craigslist.

I have my tires sitting at the shop waiting formy boss to fill out the form I need, he's on a business trip. The tires, new, will be under seven hundred installed. That's for five.

My main reasoning right now is, it's been slow so I'm quite broke, so these will do me for a couple years. Also, I'm paying seven dollars per tire for road hazard.

I want to get my axle geared and begged up prior to going bigger since I can't guarantee affording repairs or replacement for the time being. Plus I have huge year end goals financially this will benefit in the long run.
