I don't see why ask, if you already knew the answer.

x2. I don't understand why you asked if your mind was already made up. The people on this forum have logged thousands of miles of off road abuse. The collective knowledge of what works and what doesn't is here.

Just go for it! You want what you want. Build the off-road monster of your dreams. Just be sure to show us some pictures

We only wish we had that option.

$300 for a programmer that is as useful as tits on a chicken. Better off spending $100 on exhaust.

Why ask?

Myself or anyone who asks a question about upgrades, already has an idea what they want. But anyone else or myself asks because other people may have suggestions we haven't thought of. Hell, if I won the lottery, I wouldn't ask at all, I'd just do. But I want to make sure what I plan isn't better off another way. The main expense to me seems to not be the lift/tires, but all the additional things needed such as tracbars/driveshafts/speedo reprogrammed/regearing. Which if I skipped these, I'd make this setup very cheap as alot have recomended. But I may also have a driveshaft failure or other problem on the road or worse, on the trail due to not changing things out.

Though, hearing other people's opinions is HELPFUL! For instance, I may go with cheaper driveshafts and may forget about the hypertech programmer due to the input I recieved. And the Black Diamond lift mentioned to me isn't completely out of mind, though I think the RE may leave me happier in the end. I may look into cheaper rims as well, though the AEV pintlers seem like real quality. The cragars mentioned I don't know much about them and they look like they have a very exposed tire valve. And I learned about the RE Rear Relocation bracket sucking from Tsmith. So yes, I asked for a reason and got the help I needed. Lots of good ideas.

I appreciate everyone who responded with suggestions!!! Thanks guys!

Seeing that you scabbed up your stock alum rims already, I'd consider going with steelies next time around.

That would probably be the smart thing to do. It's kind of dumb to pay $1000 for AEV wheels if you know they're gonna get trashed. On the other hand, steel rims actually look better with a little rock rash.

Hmmmm, maybe you're right. But, the AEVs are built for the trail. Even has. Valve stem protection which is why I was interested in them.
