I bought my JK in July, 2007

Sometime later my engine light came on, 5 trips to the dealer and it's still on

It drives just fine, so I live with it

I am doing it pretty quickly. I read the write-up about pushing the key in so it does not catch on the stops. You turn it all the way to just short of starting, right? (2 clicks if the key was not pushed in)

stop at the last click before starting your jeep all the dash lights should illuminate and on the 3rd time stop and all the dash lights should be on and it should read where your mileage is

Ok, I got it to work. It read P0882 then went to done. I looked up P0882 and the code means: TCM POWER INPUT LOW So what does that mean?

P0882 -transmission control output circuit is used to supply power to the Power control module. transmission solenoid/pressure switch assembly and the PCM when in normal operating mode. The purpose of the trans output circuit is to allow the trans control system to turn off the power to the trans solenoid/TRS assembly in event that the trans should need to be placed into limp mode due to dtc.

time to visit the dealer
