Default Chronic Clockspring issue...PLEASE READ!

Howdy fellow Jeepsters,

So I want to highlight the importance for us to submit complaints to NHTSA if you are having issues with airbag sensor related to the Clockspring (for those of you with 07 and 08's) you know what I am talking about. For those two years, a recall and extended warranty was issued specifically for the faulty clockspring. The rest of us they are essentially giving us the finger.

I have a 2009 JK and Christmas Eve the sensor began its constant on/off and dings (annoying as hell). Also meaning the airbag will not deploy if necessary. Here is the link to NHTSA if you are or have had this issue on whatever year of Wrangler you have. The more complaints they receive, they issue recalls or extended warranties.

And thanks to another fellow Jeepster who had to replace his twice (on a thread somewhere in here), he posted this instead of spending another arm to the dealer (who wants $290 bucks for the clckspring itself).

Take care and 4X into the New Year!

2012 sahara
35,600 miles (warranty over soon).

Speedo went to zero, traction light, abs light, and ebrake light all came on and heard a chime about 2 times. This occured ten times. Took it in, the replaced the wireless control module. Afterwards the low tire pressure liggt was constantly on. They had to reprogram the tire pressure sensors to the control module. All was fine.

Since then I wired in an ESP kill switch.

Two or three weeks later the same thing happened once. I flipped the ESP kill switch, pulled over, shut off and restarted the jeep. That was a two weeks ago and been fine since.

Sound like a clock spring or no?

I have an appointed to take it into the dealer in 6 hours.

Take it to dealer....Yay or nay????
