Default Citation for XRC Armor in CA?

Anyone get a "fix it ticket" for running the fenders? If so, how did you get it taken care of without going back to stock?

I have gotten one on my full size truck. In CA the law says the tire cannot stick out further than your fenders. I got pulled over by a CHP that obviously did not like my truck. My tires stuck out by 1/2" and I still got a ticket. I did not return it back to stock because you always have the option to pay the fine and not "fix it". I bent over and paid the fine. Cost me around $300.

One of many things that suck in CA.

this is the California code:

the vehicle and all such equipment or such body or
attachments thereto shall be at least as wide as the tire tread.
This section does not apply to those vehicles exempt from
registration, trailers and semitrailers having an unladen
weight of under 1,500 pounds, or any vehicles manufactured
and first registered prior to January 1, 1971, having an
unladen weight of under 1,500 pounds.
