Default Clearance problems

I've got a 2dr rubi with the 3.5 RE superflex and 35x12.5 mtr/kevlar on stock wheels w/spacers. I have had quite a bit of rubbing, especially in the rear. The front tires will grab the fenders every once in a while, but not too often. While just sitting, I can barely get 2 fingers between the rockrails and the tire. After wheeling, it is obvious that I have rubbed not only the rockrails, but the inside of the fenders as well. Seems as if I could just scoot the rear axle back a bit, I would be ok, but I only have adj lower arms, so what are my options?

i guess i was more wondering if I had done something wrong. all of RE's literature say's 35's clear no problem, and i have even seen a few rigs running 37's with them. do i really need 4.5" of lift for tires that are 3" bigger than stock?

So the rear you only have lower Adj. arms? Uppers from what I have seen and heard give you more adjustability. You should try that first if you can. In the rear that is.

I see you have a Rubi, I'm sure you did cut your rock rails

sorry, i mistyped, they are adjustable uppers not lowers.

no, i haven't cut the rock rails yet. is this the only solution. seems like a bit of a hack job to advertise a lift that clears 35's, but requires taking a sawzall to a few places?

It's bc you have a 2dr. The rear axle moves forward with that much without adjustable rear CAs. You will have to cut the rock rails and pinch seam just to make it flush with the cut rails. Measure 1" up and 1" in from the corner of the pinch seam and then connect the dots with a saw. Then take an inch off the rails. What backspace wheels are you running? With 4.5" or less backspacing I'm not sure why you are rubbing.

The one adjustable CA on should be used adjust the pinion angle only. To move the whole axle back you need both to be adjustable (or longer fixed one on bottom). I run the same lift and size tire but I also have a 3/4" spacer above the coil springs, 1" body lift. and aftermarket rims with 4.5 back spacing.

Your best bet is to trim your rock rail. Do you have pics of the rubbing inside of the fender, this part does seem unusual.

I'm thinking his axle moved too far forward. Higher lift moves the axle forward more.
