I'm not in a rush, either. Let me know when you're ready.

I'm considering the K&N CAI and in the instructions you have to remove the sensors with that one. Don't know about the Mopar version. I would love to see a comparison sheet between the two with price, HP gain, MPG's etc...

There was a cai shoot out done by JP magazine... Gave everyones hp, install time and difficulty on a 1-10 basis. Google it.

What sensor? the mass airflow may need to be moved, but the mopar is bolt on.

Thanks, I will look it up. The K&N directions show moving the air temp sensor, but I have never replaced an intake before so maybe they all require that? or only some? idk... The directions made it look pretty simple to install. Even for a mechanically challenged person like myself :P

Just curious, how do we figure that this is a 'cold air' intake when it's sitting inside a hot engine compartment?? I must be missing something.

The heat shields keep it cooler and help it draw air from elsewhere rather than the heated air off of the engine. The cooler the air is, the more dense it is and the more oxygen is contained per unit of air, which allows for better performance.

I lucked out and found a Mopar CAI for about $50 which included the Mopar blue filter and a K&N filter as well. Sounds good and improves response but wont do anything for your mpg. Atleast I haven't noticed an improvement in the two months I have had it on.

Maybe clean the filter? Or switch it for. New one.... I def. Got a jump in MPG... I may switch the blue filter out for aem dry flow oil less filter... The oil that comes with the kn cleaner can dirty up your MAF...

So a major difference between the k&n and the mopar is that the mopar doesn't need to be oiled but the k&n does?
