Default Cold air intakes

Was wondering if it's worth installing on the jeep. I heard its not good if it get wet or muddy. Let me know if you have one and if you can tell a difference vs just a drop in filter

I have the one from Volant. I like it better than stock. Been through water several time and no issues. The alos make a snorkel for it you can add at anytime.

I have a k&n fipk on mine. Not sure it made a huge difference as far as power is concerned but it does make the jeep sound a lot meaner. It has a heat shield that goes around it which i think would deflect most of the water, they also make a prefilter wrap that will shed some more of it but if your planning on hitting a lot of water the stock air box could suck it as well so you might as well do whatever makes you happy.

Cold air doesn't have to come in under the bumper or under the hood. You can get if from over the roof and not have to worry about taking in water.

Love my CAI.

I'm rocking a K&N 77 Series on my JKU. If you are looking for a noticeable improvement in performance, I would go with a programmer and buy a good drop in air filter instead. If you plan on upgrading your exhaust, then a CAI would compliment it perfectly. Together they sound mean as hell.

Meh. I'd say just get a K&N drop-in filter and call it a day.

Save the other $200 or so for other upgrades.

Buy this for $40

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330549002121...84.m1423.l2649

Then buy your choice of a filter for $30-$40 (AEM, K&N, etc).

$70-$80 buys you a $200 intake.

I got my AEM cheap off amazon.com
I did it mostly for any MPG gain and throttle responce. I got what I wanted with that and a Viper TB. Feels faster, but that could just be the better throttle responce.
