Default Considering AEV Hood

I have to replace my hood so I'm considering getting the AEV hood.

I'm debating on ordering it painted or primered. My JK is 2007 so I'm concerned with the pre-painted hood matching with my sun baked paint.

Has anyone ordered the AEV hood painted? How much of a difference is there between the OEM paint and the new AEV paint?

Also open to suggestions other than the AEV.

What colour is you jeep? Black and red would see sensible to order it painted but the other colors have so much uniqueness.

Rescue green has a number of color code variants that made it difficult for my body guy to match the paint to my vehicle. By the third paint over I just said Ef it and figured the sun would take care of the colour matching in time.

Ps consider painting it 2 tone. Hard to see in this pic I will try and get a better one. People have done all sorts of things.

poison spyder hood louver. I wanted an AEV hood but couldnt justify the cost. I went with the poison spyder hood louver instead. You can get it primed or powder coated black for about $150. you have to cut holes in the hood for the vents to function but it works really well. just my two cents.

Although not an AEV hood, I opted for the Rugged Ridge Performance Vented hood.

I ordered it unpainted and had my body shop color match it. It saved me $400 going this route and the color is spot on.

Like someone said, there are variants of the colors and using the color code for my Jeep, the color was too light. Glad I didn't order it already painted.

Since everyone else is throwing other options out there, thought we should play too:

We dont ship our hoods painted so your local paint shop could color match to your JK
