I spent about 600 in just gears and master install kits. Most of the shops around me charged 500 per axle.

Varies wildly by area. My first re-gear was $800 out the door, second was closer to $1600. (I had a second re-gear because I chose the shop with the lowest price for the first...) And some folks are reporting $2500-3000.

Forget what anyone else paid, and call all of your local shops to see what prices are in 'your' area. And be sure to get warranty info, and references from other customers if you can.

I paid $550 for Yukon 4:88 gears and $700 for install labor for both axles.

A local shop (recommended) said they only provide a 90 day warranty. Said if something is going to go wrong it'll happen in 90 days. Does that sound typical?

I was quoted about $1400 out the door. Was also told its cheaper to go 4.56 or 4.88 over the 4.10.

4.56 is typically a more expensive gear set.

I paid about 600 for the parts and 1000 for labor. I 2 entered with 4.56. They are usually more expensive but I found that one of the vendors on here has yukons at the same price as the other sizes!
