control arms
from my reading here, it seems people get front lower and rear upper control arms to save some money on the lifts. what advantages are there to getting a complete control arm setup rather than just the front lowers and rear uppers? is there a lift height when complete control arm setups is necessary? also, why don;t we do rear lowers rather than rear uppers?
thanks

Also, some lifts come with new fixed arms (usually front lowers or all 4 lowers) that are engineered to be a bit longer than stock to correct for the lift.
I have 4 lower Skyjacker fixed length arms with stock uppers and my driveline and caster angles are ok.

3 " is really the sweet spot for a 2 door. With flat fenders you can run 37's and still have a lo cog. I have front lowers and thats it. I thougth about getting rear lowers to regain wheelbase but my jeep drives and handles great. If your going to go 2.5 - 3 i would recomend getting at least front lowers as it really does feel like you get your stick handling back.

We could not agree with you more! It is amazing how much "good" knowledge is out there for the JK in just 3 years. For the TJ it took like 5 or 6...
To answer your first question, Front Lowers and Rear Uppers are a good combination to properly reset and partially reposition the caster. The rear uppers is a good way to reset the rear pinion angle and partially reposition the rear axle.
For all the other parts, you really need to look at the features of the components. For example, our lower control arms, offer high clearance, a spherical joint at the axle and a big bushing at the frame. Just check out the features of the products!
