Control arms or not?
If you wouldn't be concerned about losing ground clearance.....this is the better way to go. Just keeps those arms at a flatter angle, not to mention cheaper and easy to install. Downside is can't dial caster in perfectly as there are only a couple mounting options, but then again caster isn't an exact science. There's a wide range of "acceptable".
Thanks for all the input guys
I installed teraflex lower front control arms after doing their 2" spacer lift. I noticed an immediate improvement in the overall drivability of my jeep. That was my last jeep, this one is going with the same setup again, but with falcon shocks. I would say go for the control arms over the geo brackets for clearance.
I know people worry about geo brackets and ground clearance but I have done most of the tougher trials in Moab including Golden Spike, Rose garden hill, Potato salad hill and behind the rocks and never have had the paint scratched off. I was worried about them and two guys I did the Rubicon trail with had them and one was in a 2.5" AEV lift 4 door the other with 3.5 AEV lift and neither had any issues that kind of sold me. The guy in the 4 door had no offroad experience so did not always take the best lines and he did fine. The next year we did the Dusy Ershim and again he had no issues.

I generally agree. I think people do at least need to realize you lose some clearance, but it's not like loosing 3" of clearance at the diff! I think they do get scrapped around a bit, but I'm not certain I've ever seen someone not make it through an obstacle that they otherwise would have....ie, they aren't the difference-maker. For the majority, they sure are the better option considering the improved angle the arms sit at vs. adjustable. I think a big stumbling block is often they don't sound as cool as having adjustable arms.....more of a bandaid than the proper method, but that's not really the case. Sometimes adjustable arms make more sense, sometimes control arm brackets make more sense. There is not a single time that cam bolts makes sense IMO, and I've never really understood why someone would want to spend money on fixed length arms.
Thanks for all of the useful information guys, I ended up ordering front lower and rear upper arms, I found a good deal and decided to jump on it. ill complete the set most likely after I get some drive shafts in. Parts should be in next week to start putting the lift on!
