Default Converting from stick to auto?

A friend has found a 2011 JKU for sale that's highly modified he would like to buy, but the only thing holding him back is that it's a stick, not auto. Does anyone know if it can be converted, and what the cost to do this would be?
Thanks

No idea if it can 'technically' be done but I would bet it would cost some cash. That being said he should put his efforts into looking for an auto or learn to drive a stick. All JK's are six speeds (I'm on my second one) and they are very easy to drive.

I had to drive 65 miles to get a Rubicon with a manual transmission when I got mine. Have him learn to drive manual, he'll love it.

Teach him how to drive a manual, he'll be happier for it!

Short answer, have him learn stick, its something everyone should know.

Long answer, he would need a new transmition, new mounts, new computer, and new wiring harness. For the cost, he could buy an auto jeep, and add all the extras he's insterested in that make him want this one.

In the old days all you'd need was linkage and maybe new mounts. Now, with all the computer crud, it'd be way too pricey.

it would be cheaper to buy a JK with auto than to convert one... even if he got the JK for a steal with all the mods, it would be cheaper to uninstall the mods and return it to stock, sell the stock JK and buy an auto JK and reinstall all the mods than to convert it.
