Default Core 4x4 Steering Kits

Local shop quoted me for Teraflex (Tie Rod & Drag Link, Trackbar, and Front Lower Control Arms) and MOOG front ball joints to align my front end, so doing a bit of research to see what else is out there.

Any user experience with Core 4x4 (www.core4x4.com) products? I tried the search bar and didn't see a discussion on this brand. The lifetime warranty and color customization sound pretty sweet.

You're not going to find a lot of talk about Core4x4 products. They're out there, I'm sure some folks use them, but they are not a preferred brand here. Are you having steering issues? Are there specific symptoms? With a '12, it's not absurd to say that everything needs to be freshened up.

Many of us would steer you towards Metalcloak as a brand. The joints they use and their components are high quality, and priced the same, sometimes cheaper, than lesser quality brands If you have to replace your front trackbar, one of the most important components on the jeep, I'd go with MC with no further thought. It's cheaper than the Teraflex too. If you're going to be doing some real wheeling, by all means upgrade the TR, but if your just looking at pavement miles ahead you could likely just replace the ends to freshen it up. Same with the drag link, which doesn't take a ton of stress. If you need to completely replace the drag link I'd again go with Metalcloak, or at the very least a model that can be mounted either in factory of flipped positions.

If you need to correct caster, and aren't going to be playing in big rocks, control arm drop brackets might be a better option for you than adjustable control arms. The downside is a bit of decreased clearance at the frame rails, but they are cheaper than new arms and the ride is actually a bit better due to the decreased angle of the arm running from axle to frame.

If you need new ball joints, Moog is essentially the same as factory but they have a grease zerk. Larger tires will eat up factory, or similar, ball joints. I'd do some research and put something else in there. Most people have sticker shock when looking at Rare Parts, but they are the best. There are a handful of other manufacturers making mid-tier BJs. They're all a gamble IMO, but likely fine for most.

Go to know on the brands you listed below. I am not having any actual issues yet, research is in reaction to an inspection at the local shop (alignment chart below). First time Jeep owner (introduction post for a bit of background: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/new-...remote-359477/) and want to do my best to make sure we are prepared for our travels this upcoming year.

We are planning on doing quite a bit of off roading in 2023, not quite ready for the gnarliest stuff out there, but we have some beginner trails under our belts so far. And as expected, I get a bit more confident each time.

No plans for going any bigger than the 35"s that are on there.
