Question Could this be "bumpsteer"?

So I installed a Skyjacker 2" bb on my X and I am currently running the stock metal wheels. My problem now is this.... at speeds of about 40mph or higher the steering wheel "kicks" and the vehicle "shimmy's" after hitting uneven pavement, especially while turning. What could this be and how could i fix it? also, once the weather breaks, I am installing 16x8 procomp 1079's with a 305/75...could this "wider" stance help this?..how about an alignment?

Have you measured your axles? How far off center are they?

if your BB came with a track bar relocation bracket throw it away and spend the extra for an adjustable track bar NOW

No Trac bar brackets, just spacers. Also, how exactly do I measure to find the center of my axles?

For some reason, alot of JK's are picky when it comes to lifts, even a 2" spacer lift.
It sounds like you havent changed anything else, right? And it was fine before the lift?
What I have been looking into is that the track bar needs a drop bracket that attatches to the frame side of the mount to bring the bar down level. Than, recenter the axels. There is a write up on this forum that makes it easy. Than recenter your wheel and possibly get an alignment although I dont think you need that?.
That should help you out. Please let us know what you do to fix it.

Input from what I am saying would be good, I dont want to mislead anyone...

Thi sis not true unless you've messed with the toe. Otherwise, you have changed nothing that will change your alignment.

With the exception of your steering wheel being slightly off, nothing else will have changed with a lift this small and an alignment will not be needed. As far as what you are experiencing goes, have you taken your tires to be balanced again? Speed related shimmy is commonly a problem associate with tires not being balanced. Also, have you checked to make sure that your track bar is tightend to 125 ft. lbs. of torque? Could be it's loose and that could cause problems similar to what you described after hitting a bump in the road.
