I am surprised the pipe wrench didn't just slip off, not much for it to "bite" on to. Will give it a try though.

Dave mine didnt.. ur the man by far, but I disagree with u on the tool...
When I goto my friends sat where I left it ill take pics of the warpedness.
The metal is too soft, handle to short, and the joint has not.much to grab... I spent 45 min trying to use the tool.. took 2 min with a pipe wrench.
If I did it again I would not buy the tool... my two cents.

Ill have a better pic shortly, but u can see how it deformed where it hits the points of the joint.

Its hard to see in this pic.. if u.put it on the joint the.minute u apply pressure it slides off.
Better pic.. its almost like the tool doesn't grab it in the corner.. at least mine was like that..

Change where you pack the ubolts! Many people cannot find these damn things. Second either add instructions on how to flip the drag link end that connects to the knuckle or don't over tighten the damn thing.

Now for the customer service of Currie. Called them and explained that for the Reid knuckles to work the drag link end need to be flipped, I tried (really tried) with a 3/4" impact to unscrew the rebuidable ball joint and could not get it off. They sent me another end (already flipped) I did have to pay for shipping both ways and had to pay for the end upfront ... BUT they did take the scarred one back, and sent me a check a couple weeks later. So I am happy with Currie overall, but as always there is room for improvement.
Hmmm, this is the exact configuration (Currie steering CURRECTLYNC set up, PR44, and the Reid knuckles) I was going to purchase in the next week or so, but sounds like I could run into the same installation issues you mention.

I also had a "bad" customer experience episode with Currie, but was planning on giving them another chance as it was over a year ago. This thread is making me second guess that decision.

Who's that leave in terms of new tie rods / drag links? Rock Krawler, EVO, Teraflex?

Nobody makes better steering parts then Currie - Nobody!

Rinkish- I have to assume that the joint you had must have been a tight one I have used the currie tool about 7-10 times and it has worked great but I understand what you are saying if the joint was super tight it could deform the tool.

Just so everybody knows if you are purchasing the kit from us and you want the joint flipped we will do it for you .

Also, is it just me or in order to adjust the tie rod once its on the vehicle you have to remove the stock stabilizer mount? Because don't you turn the center tube to adjust?

U don't need to remove it. Loosen the front two nuts so the bar can spin.
