Default Custom Freedom Top

Has anyone heard of a custom freedom top modification. for example, cutting out the center of each front panel and inserting tinted glass? what is the likelyhood of making it look clean, be air and water tight, and not shatter while getting a little bumpy on the trail? IF anyone have seen, done, or heard of this mod please send me some assistance. thanks,

Just in Case I F it up, anyone know the cost of the front panel?

I suppose anything is possible if you can throw enough money at it & find the right person for the job. I think you'll do better having the font portion made into a single piece with a sun roof. That would take care of a lot of the sealing issues you would have joining two sections together.

along these same lines, I think putting a sunroof in the rear part of the hardtop would be great...I saw a sunroof in Quadratec and wondered too if anyone has done it yet...

Default Cool Idea!

This is why I come to this board....
Y'all are some creative people.
I think putting a little tinted glass square in each front freedom top panel and a tinted rectangular lift up sunroof over the second row would be a cool addition to the hardtop.

Exactly! I've been saying that since I first saw the Promo materials prior to the JK's release... the idea of a staged top was clearly within the engineers' contemplation when they waved their magic wand over the Unlimited's soft-top to enable 3 degrees of exposure. This only seems logical on the Freedom Top... leave the cargo area covered, and give us the option of sitting topless in front or back.

Three pieces widthwise would be cool. Then you
could have a hard safari top instead of a bikini.

I heard the power group for the 08 includes power windows, locks, and a convertable hard top option....haha,

My girlfriend actually gave me the idea when she was getting windblown trying to stick her head out the window to star gaze at Tahoe. I noticed quadratec sells sunroofs that may fit vertically on each panel (need to check dementions), the package comes with gasket and all for 170 a pop. I dont think the installation would be very difficult, It's just a matter of liberating the freedom top. When its done ill post for all to see.
