My concerns with lengthening a two door would be 1) if it was to the rear then the over hang would be an issue, and i dont really like the "scrambler" look. 2) if its ahead of rear wheels, the drive line and frame would all need modifications.

That black one resembles an 06 LJ.. I like it.. Oh,, I was kickin tires today at a jeep dealer and after borrowing a tape measure I figured.. Moving the spare someplace else, and changing the hinges on the tailgate so it drops down,, and pulling the seats out.. a pair of fullsized dirtbikes could be loaded in the back.. oh, and yes you would have to change the rollbar.. Just a thought tho...
Keep us posted! I'm about to pull the trigger on either a used 4dr or a new 2dr..

Not 100% positive, but it was 116"(unlimited) and removed 6" of frame.....so I'm saying 100".

Buying a set half doors and going to add steel belt rail to the top rear doors and mate two dusters together for the time being.
AEV got back to me about a Brute, and a 5.7 swap but have no new info.
Burnsville no new info.
Jeff Daniels also expressed some interest emailed some ideas but again no news.
And Ok4wd showed interest but the ownwer was on vaca, then I went on vaca. He said he contacted Chrysler and those proto types we have been seeing(JT & J8) have between 400 and 500 man hours!! That budget Scared me in a different direction, And the doors came available.
SOOOOO no dramatic news.

And one more thing.....
Have contacted the guy that shaved the tailgate smooth, and there is another member talking about shaving the door handles, my interest would be the rear half doors only being smoothed because the handles are lower on the halfs, and think it would still be cheaper over all than "custom" that nobody is overly excited about doing....except ME!
