Default Custom Windshield tint

Folks,
Looking for a custom tinted strip for the windshield. I want as dark as i can at top, transitioning to clear - I want the lettering to be the same silver color used in the Rubicon graphics on the hood. On this, i want to spell out a custom phrase.

Anyone have advice?

Default Sorry for being a pain in the arse - but i guess it comes naturally

always nice to ask what one feels like is a legit question .... and catch shit for it. Hate to break the news, but Jeeps have gone mainstream and are not just for smashing big rocks into little ones. I am 6' 8" - 260lbs and wanted a new convertible as my midlife crisis car .... only thing that I can get my big ass body into is the Jeep (and I have always wanted another one (this is my third))
- so when we ask about things like cat-back, Cold Air intakes, leaks in our softtops, noises from who knows where ..... it is frustrating to get the response back of - hey what the hell you expect ... its a freaking jeep.

This is a great forum and us "newbies" can learn a shit load

My best advice is to ignore the ignorant comments. Sometimes they are meant in jest, and just come out all wrong, sometimes they are as assinine as they sound. *shrugs* It's your Jeep, do what you want with it.

As for the custom tinting, hit up some automotive sound shops, some of them branch out into that stuff, and if they dont, they likely know where to point you. Some of those guys do some amazing things with cars, and custom colored tinting/graphics has been is all the rage with the import crowd, so they can likely help you out there.

I dont know any places in IL but the custom shops here have bulletin boards loaded with buisness cards to look through...

good luck, I'd like to see what you come up with.

Before YOU do a THING to the front glass, check your local laws REAL good. Some allow a tint strip and some do not. Ask me how I know. Also, it's nice to have a tint strip at the top, so I'm with you on that one. It will certainly help the A/C as well.

The states that do allow a tint strip I'm pretty sure it can only go down a certain distance from the top, check it out before you do it. You don't want to spend money on something then have to police tell you that you have 5 days to remove it and show them or get a ticket... and still have to remove it.
There's not alot of windshield space to work with, it would probably have to be pretty short.

Sure... while you're at it. why not buy a Corvette and put a 4 cyl Cavalier motor in it.

You are absolutely right; if it's your vehicle you can do whatever you want to it (barring adding a Vulcan to the roof....). But my question is, why would you?

Why would you spend the money on a vehicle that is designed to go off road then completely negate that functionality by lowering it...?
Sounds like a complete waste of money.

Here you go. Looks STUPID.

You said a mouthful. "If done right". I'm not a big fan of lowriders, but I have seen some that were done very well.
