Default Cut front bumper

Does anyone have the stock front bumper on their jeeps cut? Pictures and possibly measurements would be nice. I saw a picture somewhere where someone did to theirs but I can't find it. I just want to cut off the ends in front of the tires so I can improve approach angle. Thanks!

Pics and description, with measurements, of my JK bumper chop are posted on my FB album; see URL: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1410748&type=3

One can cut much closer (about 1.5 inches) to the the can crushers but in doing so you loose two bolts on each side. If you want to retain full strength on your bumper cut no closer than 3.5 inches from the can crusher.

Cheers,
Craig

Used a rubbermaid $5 trash can from true value and melted my own endcaps and then spray on bed liner.

Just measured about 3-4 inches away an cut. Doesn't have to be perfect if your adding caps. It covers all the cut.

Go to 4wheelparts website, pull up vdp caps and view the pdf of the instructions.

Thanks guys for all the info, and pictures. After extensive research and much " I don't think that's a good idea " chatter from the wife I've decided to go with this. I'm going to take of the plastic front, shave it down a bit and weld metal tubing to the top but push it out further away from the jeep in a pre-runner style bumper. Thanks for the help again guys.
