The D31A is larger then the D34.
The D31A has more power, more longevity, more CCA and is a few inches larger then the D34.

So to answer the original posters question; if there are a few more inches on each side of the jeeps mount i may fit with some small modification or movement of electicals, hoses, etc.

I have an Optima Blue Top in my JK and it fits great. The Blue Top is nice because it has extra posts for lights, winches and other items. Plus it is a Marine deep cell and will run the lights and winches longer. I got mine at Discount Auto for $179.
