Default D44 front and D60 rear???

I am wondering if a Prorock 44 front and a Tera 60 rear would be a good set up...I will be going to 37's when my current tires go out. I will prolly go with 5.38 to get a little extra power and because I plan to go to 40's when the 37's go out. I also wanna get the ORE treatment (LA, EVO lever, front CO's) when I get the 40's. So I guess what im asking is will the Prorock 44 hold up to the 40's and 5.38's with smart throttling, ie-not wooding it out or up something? Or would it be better to just invest in a Tera 60 front and just not touch a 44? I know the Tera 60 rear will hold up fine! I wheel about 5 to 8 times a year (colorado trails ) and hit up Moab once or twice a year.

If you are going to go to 40's eventually don't waste time or money on any 44, besides it appears that a ready to install prorock 44 is almost as much as a 60. Can't wait to see it when its done!

yeah, i'd have to agree. 40's are a lot of tire and you really want to be on 60's for them.

Yep, right around $6k for a fully equipped 44 with an ARB.

If you have the rubicon you can re-use all internals in the pro rock 44. I got mine built for 4,000. that included cromo shafts and gears swaped. would have done a 60 but with new gears locker and on board air. it would have been closer to 10,000. i bent the stock 44 c's which ment i was spending money anyway and 4 looked better then 10. i will tell you that the pro rock 44 looks way beefer then stock the tubes are same size as dana 60 and the axle C's are wider and thicker. im staying at 37's for some time. just thought hearing from someone who has the pro rock 44 might be helpful in making a decision.

with 37's, i think you'd be just fine with the prorock44. problem with 40's is that you'll want to regear to 5.38's and they will be your weak point in a 44 axle.
