Default EXTRA...On Board Air?

So I got and love my Viair constant duty kit and was wondering if I can add another tank. I was looking to do a 2.5 gallon tank for a total of 5 gallons. Can the compressot handle this? AND Can I just buy a hose and connect the two? I'm just trying to figure out what I need and how much it will cost and if the benefit out weighs the cost. GET IT..... The additional tank will also give me more ports to attach toys too. Will I see any benefit to doubling the air tanks?

Default Extra Tank

You can just add the second tank to your system. The compressor you have is a constant duty and will not be affected by the larger air volume. It will run longer to fill both tanks but will not be a problem. Chris

That's what I figured, thanks....

...But does anybody think that adding another tank will be that much more beneficial. Or will it only marginally increase benefit?

Real question is where do you put the second tank? I have found yes the compressor is constant but it can't keep up the pressure in the tank when filling a 35" tire. What about a second compressor? Easier on space..thoughts?

I already know where I would install the second tank. I've also though about a second compressor. But that is the more expensive route. Already spent some good change on the first kit and I was just looking for some extra power.

Maybe a second compressor AND tank.

At full pressure, filling the first 35' tire is no problem, then the other three take a little more time and not to mention everyone else waiting in line who needs air.

Here's another thought. Why not supplement with a liquid CO2 tank? You can run air tools and it is portable in way the tank is not.

But then what do I do with the OBA system I already have installed? I was just looking for more performanc out of the system I have.

I'd just add a second comp. the second tank would only buy u a little speed with the first tire or two. After that, u would be back to square one.

Default Tanks Benefits,

I have found that the tanks are great only when they are full, with 37's, I can air up 1 and 1/2 tires on about 9 gallons of reserve tanks, at that point I am running solely on my compressor, more volume out of the compressor is the only way to go, the powerplant works great,. but I too would like more air volume out of a compressor.

Not many other Ideas from this side of the fence without throwing more $$$ at the problem. I guess the way to look at it is as long as your tires get filled up, then the OBA has done what it was intended for, it just takes a little patience.

like others have said co2 and a compressor best of both worlds. You have the co2 for tools and quick airups and the compressor when you run out or the little B#$%^$ open your tank in the parking lot
