Default d44 locker switch

Hey guys Im inatalling a new dana 44 front and wondering what other switch is for I assume the one on the side is for the locker but whats the top one for? I just need a pos and neg to work right? Thanks

I'm pretty sure the one on the top is to control the locker, and the one on the side is the sensor that makes the light on the dash in a Rubicon go on and off. The side one has no control, it just senses when the locker is engaged or disengaged and sends a signal through the CAN bus to the dash.

Do you know if thats all I need is 12 volts and a ground?

Check out the posts from Ruskin and Don A Vee on this thread. I know I read another thread where some one else was adding a rubicon axle to an X, I just can't find it. Hope this helps!

Wired it to just a switch and it works great. Same as ected locker.

Which one to +, and which one to gnd? I am going to be doing the same thing soon. My shop sent mine back because the upper ball joint cap was damaged, and the locker plug was damaged. I have already wired the switch and relay. Can you post a detailed pic of where it plugs in? Thanks.

It plugs in at top of axle right side was + for me I just got a plug that was close to right fit from napa and made it work

Has anyone swapped a rubicon front into their x? I would like to see some pics if at all possible.

Well the one thing I am currious about is I already have a dana 44 in the rear with an open diff and 3.21 gears. Is is posible to save cash and buy 4.10 gears and the factory locker seperate and install them in the housing?
