Thank you everyone. Sounds like a PR44 when I hurt my 30. I was thinking 35 spline in a sleeved 44 but sounds like that can't be done. Thanks for all the input.

External sleeves and a truss are ok, it's just the inner sleeves that cause issues with the 35 spline shafts. The companies that make the sleeves will list appx strength increases for them, so check and see if outers would be enough for you. Get all the info to base the comparison on.

Great thread! Thanks everyone for posting such great info! I was about to buy an empy Rubi D44 housing and some used stock shafts. I was thinking I could just put and ARB in it and then sleeve and gusset it. I didn't know that wouldn't work! I'm glad I saw this before I pulled the trigger on those parts!

We all have different views and experiences, so take the advice for what it is... Personal opinion...

There is nothing wrong with a slow build on a cheap used rubi housing, just do the homework up front so you know what your options are. It would suck to get into the build and 'then' find out... ($1200 replacement stock locker, 35 spline arb/shafts that won't fit with the inner sleeves you have already done, ProSteers that can't play nicely with RCV's, etc...)

And as mentioned, add up the total cost and see if you would be better off just saving for an aftermarket axle.
