Default Dana 30

Do I need to sleeve and gusset my 30 with 35's and 4.88's with it being my dd and trails? The sleeves seem pretty straight forward, slide in when you regear. How much labor cost on C gussets ? I Don't have a welder.

you definitely want the c gussets as without them, your c's will bend with 35's. sleeves are cheap insurance but really, in spite of all the hype, are far from necessary - trust me. you can probably have a welder get them on for you for about $200 or so.

Default I did

I did exactly what you stated above. To me it was worth it. Had the gears, gussets and sleeves done all at once.

Thx, may just buy gussets and throw sleeve money towards install.

You can also look at Rusty's truss kit instead of sleeving your D30. It can be welded on same time as your gussets...

unless you have a really good professional welder that really knows what he's doing, more times than not, installing a truss WILL BEND your axle housing. because of this, i personally think they are a bad idea. again, nothing wrong with sleeves and they are relatively cheap insurance but, far from being as necessary as some would like to suggest.

You really only need the gussets. I have a dana 30 with 37s. No bends or breaks yet.

truth be told, they'll all do the job but, i prefer running the off road evolution gussets as they were the ones to do it first and i like to support innovation. some of the others out there are shameless direct copies.
