I have a rubicon but wanted to build it so I never needed to worry about the housing, I sleeved it, gussets it, put sliders on, trussed it, and welded some blue torch diff covers

Is that a EVO diff cover kit?

Sliders were evo, c gussets were teraflex, I live were thy use salt and wanted to be able to paint the entire c gusset surface

 

Looks good, what welder you using?

 

I use a Hobart ironman 230, I work with a lot of different welders at work and unless you make you living a Hobart is plenty good, save the money on you welder by buying a Hobart and put it towards a plasma

 

That looks great. I just purchased a Dana 44 housing and will be starting my build soon. My goal is to run 37's so a setup like you have seems perfect, but I'm learning as I go. Any suggestions or tips that you can pass along my way?

 

Don't try to weld to the cast housing, cast steel needs to be heated with a torch in order to weld to it, either your weld will break or the housing will crack, my first couple welds broke and my father in law showed me how to preheat the casting, it was a pita
