Dash Panel Question

Has anyone tried to install the stock rubber tray from a TJ upper dash panel in the JK upper dash panel? I don't like the way the Daystar panel looks or functions.

I have the daystar upper dash panel, I put volvo center console rubber inserts in it (trimmed to fit) it works and looks great
