DDM Tuning HID headlights
Well,, right now I have them aimed as low as possible,, and I can tell I need to come up just a bit,, I can try to get better pics tomorrow, but I don't want to bring them up too high, cause I don't want to blind the people in front of me. I can tell you for the $23 it cost me for the fog light bulbs,, its definitely worth a try! And again,, these are the cheapest headlight solution I have seen.

Let me know if i got this correct. You installed HID Headlights into your stock reflector housing? Can you get a pic of the light about 25' from a flat wall? like a garage door or something. I have never seen this be successful in making a correct cut off line for HID headlights. HID headlights belong in Projector Housings to get proper cut off and so you don't blind the planes flying overhead... Im just skeptical at this point is all...

You will not get a correct cutoff line with an HID in a reflector housing made for incandescent bulbs. It throws most of the light down but you get a lot of bleed upwards as well.
As I said in my initial post though, if you aim them down a bit to the point of the images I posted. I have a 4" lift and don't get flashed. Been driving with HIDs in reflectors since I got my first TJ. From October to April you can't avoid driving at night... go to work, night, leave work, night. When I first installed them, I didn't even make it to the highway and was flashed literally by every single vehicle I passed. Aimed it down a bit (like the photos) and no flashing.
Is it annoying for oncoming traffic? Possibly, but no ones been annoyed enough to the point of flashing me. Projectors are on the list of things to get, but they are honestly next to the bottom of the priority list.
My point is, aim them down once you install the HIDs as you are throwing a lot more light on the road and the reflector was not designed for that light output.
The HID bulb goes in the exact place in the housing that the stock bulb was. How would the reflective housing disperse the light any differently? Actually, right now I have the lights pointed as low as they go and will need to adjust them up to get greater illumination down range. But when you stand in front of the jeep and look at the lights, its not any different than looking at stock lights,, except brighter! I don't recall anyone hating the way the stock reflector housing throws out light,, its just the weakness of the light. However, I have heard plenty of people say they hate the way the Trucklights or JW Speaker lights reflect(although not sure which ones or both)

Its not really an issue with the stock bulbs since they really put out minimal light. When you pump up the light output, the focus beam ends up being brighter and higher so you have to just aim them a little lower as you mentioned.
I assume your comment of blinding planes overhead was sarcasm.

Yes it was sarcasm. Thanks for the honesty...I hate cheap kits for this exact reason... They are not legal by the way...Try to get some projectors please. Dont be part of the problem.

You will never find a stock car with HID headlights and a reflector housing. Because its simply NOT LEGAL due to SAFETY of blinding other drivers. The HID kits that are being sold without housings are for Projector housings, but since its the same twist in connector on your stock reflector housing people just through them in.
You know the difference between a tuner car and a ricer? Ricer's are cheap and over the top. You are being a ricer in a Wrangler. Don't be ignorant.
Sorry for the harshness, it's just a pet peeve of mine.
