Default De-Cat the JK???

Wondering if anyone has "de-catted" their JK?
I noticed there are 2 sets of Catalytic Converters on the JK (as opposed to one on the my old XJ) and I was thinking of removing the last two...I noticed there are no sensors after these two cats so I was figuring it wouldn't screw up the computer.
Would there be any advantage to doing this (performace, sound, MPG)?
It will still pass smog tests here as long as the numbers are low enough, which i have no doubt they will be.
Just looking for some input.

I am thinking you are going to cause yourself issues when it comes time for inspection. On top of that, it is not the environmentally friendly thing to do. There are plenty of ways you can get more HP/MPG or better sound without removing them.

There is only one argument for removing your cat and that is economical. If you do a lot of deep water driving, you will destroy your cat, and it will cost you to replace it. Other than that, all other arguments go against you doing it.

Just for record, and from experience (dyno proven a few years ago) assuming your caty's are in good shape you would only gain 1-3 HP and 1-2 lb/ft by removing them. Its really not worth the effort or risk to you (you know, the gov guys that tax the crap out of you) or your warranty to remove them.

Not worth the effort. These things are not hot-rods...
