Dealer couldn't flash for larger tire size!
Has anyone had their computer flash for larger (35" Tires) I went to the dealer today and they said that their progran wouldn't allow them to adjust the speedometer/odometer for 35" tires. They said the program only allows for certain tire sizes ones that come on the vehicles. Is that right? Has anyone had this done?

I have the 17" wheels and tires off of a Commander, 31" tall I think, and the can only get it within 3% of accurate (GPS tested). Told me they can only select certain tire sizes. Guess we will have to wait on aftermarket.

Tires
They can only set the speedo to original tires that come on that model.
They did 285x75x16 for me or about 32" tall for my 33" tires. Close...
Jeep may offer a download to dealers, later, that will adjust the tire sizes larger.
But, when I asked about this from Jeep, they said "We do not recommend changing the tire sizes on our vehicles!"
We sall see.

I will let you know. I believe it depends on your dealer though. My local dealer just lifted a 2door, 2 1/2 tera bb, and put 35" mtrs on it, selling new on the lot, I can't see them doing this if they cannot adjusr for it.

Adjusting the Speedo
The speedo pickup on the TJ was a GEAR that could be changed for $15 bucks to compensate for different tire sizes.
The Rubicon (TJ) could not. It has an electronic pickup on the output shaft of the transfer case (same spot as the NP231).
Rubicon Xfer case is the NP421 I think...?
The electronic one can only be adjusted up to the 31s the Rubicon came with, and lower, but not higher.
My Rubicon's speedo is off about 6 MPH at 55 MPH (so I am doing 61 on the GPS, which is 99.95% accurate)
I haven't been under a JK enough to know what the pick up is, but from other posts I assume its electronic... and thus, the dealer can only select tires that it may come with...
There is a device $200ish (nuts to that) that can correct an electronic speedo, but im not paying $200 to make my speedo accurate by 6 MPH... Now if I had the hookup to link my laptop to my TJ I may be able to reprogram it to whatever I want, but I dont have the parts...
