I think I'm leaning toward the M8000. My brother has ran an x8000i (discontinued) for about 7-8 years on his xterra and loves it. From what I can tell the mechanics are the same between the two. I was also thinking that if more funds became available down the road and I wanted to upgrade, the M8000 would hold its resale value better.

Thanks for all the replies. Hope this is the right decision!

Will that mounting plate that comes with the Runva bolt up to a stock bumper?

Mounting plate doesn't come with the runva. I had a custom bumper made with plate attached to bumper and it was all done before I even bought the runva. But the holes for mounting it are the same as the smitty built and warn winch. So its pretty much standard as far as the measurements go for winch plates.I hope that makes sense.

Congrads enjoy the new winch. Warn is a very good brand. Wish there were more trees where I lived so o could use my winch more. Lol tours the desert life I guess

Funny, I didn't see any support for Mile Marker......

I figure if it's good enough for Our Military....then why not use it?

Good point...I thought the military mostly used hydraulic winches? However, I did look into them but found mixed reviews. Some loved them and some didn't. From my research the warn was the most recommended...and for the price I felt I couldn't go wrong.

BTW...do winches get stolen often? Thinking of putting a generic cover over it to distract thieves

Get a cover to protect your winch from the elements, it won't do much to deter a thief, pretty obvious wants underneath lol. You could tack weld the bolts or use specialty bolts that require a keyed socket to remove if you're concerned about the winch walking off.
