diff capacity?? help!
I just installed the rear Teraflex "rock proof type" cover. It came with no instructions, and (SORRY TERAFLEX SPONSOR) last time I called them I was on hold long distance for 23 minutes and never got my answer...
ANYWAY! what is the normal capacity of the Dana 44 rear and Dana 30 front? I wonder if the capacity is INCREASED with this HD 44 cover seems bigger.
Everything is ready to go but I have no idea how much gear oil to put back in... I bough 4qts for front and rear thinking I'm going to need more :-(

1. Start here: Jeep JK Wrangler Maintenance Differential Fluid Change Write-Up
2. Yes, you'll probably require a little more differential fluid (don't fill it up to the fill port--that can cause fluid to bubble up out of the breather tube). There's a great diagram that show how high to fill it (you can use your pinky or a Zip-tie to dipstick it). I'll search and see if I can't find that pic and link to it. But, I think four quarts will be enough to do the job.

one thing that seems to be missing from these threads is how long do you allow the RTV to dry before adding the oil or driving? I was following the instructions goes right from torquing the bolts to adding the oil. I drove it an hour and 1/2 later and that's when it hit me of course...
