Default Diff Covers?

Went wheeling for the first time this weekend and decided that my next upgrade would be to but armor on my diff covers...

saw the full replacement covers as well as the armor that bolts on to the existing covers..

anyone feel strongly about either? or if my diff covers are new and in good shape the the add on armor is fine..

thanks
Steve

I personally think that the armor is a waste. A new full cover runs from 110- 175 each and will have a higher fill plug and be alot stronger than any armor.

Also the armor to me seem to just get packed with dirt and mud.

I agree. Buy the covers or don't bother.

I have some Superlift diff guards, but plan on changing to covers at some point. The Superlift guards rubs my rear track bar. That is my main reason for wanting to change.

I have the RM cast iron jobs and they take a licken and keep on ticken! I can really put the bash on a hogs head and these are tough as they get. I had a Rustys D30 guard on an old XJ of mine and it took some abruse too, they all work well I guess it depends on where you are wheeling and going with your Jeep too. JOE>

Love my riddler covers. As stated above the armor just colllects dirt and kills ground clearance at the most critical point. But a good set of iron covers and be done with it.

Good deal on these.
The TeraFlex HD44/HD30 differential covers are designed to offer extreme protection from rocks, obstacles and other debris on the trail. The cover is cast from the same high-strength ductile-iron as our HD axle housings. The cover is over 3/8” thick to ensure protection. It also offers two fill plugs for use in standard or high pinion D44 housings, or when the pinion must be rotated in extreme applications.

ive got riddlers front and rear and i love them. I too think that the armor is just a waste, might as well replace the whole cover for basically the same price.
